Team Teaching

TEAM TEACHING: Both teachers instruct the students together. The teachers may take turns leading a discussion, one may speak while the other demonstrates a concept, one may speak while the other models note-taking on the board, and so on. Teachers may role-play, simulate conflict, and model appropriate questioning. This format requires the highest level of mutual trust and the most commitment.

Caution: With teaming, students are in a whole group and opportunities for reduced teacher/student ratio are missing. Increased teacher talk can limit student responses and interactions and make it difficult for teachers to adhere to time limits.

Recommended use: Occasional.
