Boundless Learning Co-Teaching Professional Development

A Year-Long, Blended, Professional Development Package

Registration for the 2023-2024 School Year below

The Arkansas Co-Teaching Project, in partnership with Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Technology in Education (CTE), offers a year-long, blended professional development package to Arkansas schools. The professional learning opportunity provides training through an electronic learning community with support from the AR Co-Teaching Project staff and Johns Hopkins University’s CTE. Each school receives additional support from an assigned state-level coach, who collaborates and provides non-evaluative feedback for online and classroom implementation.

Co-Teachers

The Boundless Learning Co-Teaching Professional Learning for co-teachers is designed to build productive co-teaching partnerships in order to provide sufficient support to students with disabilities in the general education classroom. General and special educators will learn how to work together to build a co-teaching partnership in which each member is clear about the team’s mission, goals, and roles, and is able to effectively co-plan, co-instruct, and co-assess. Co-teaching partnerships will use instructional practices that support increased academic and behavioral outcomes for all students, including students with disabilities.

Administrators and Administrative Teams

The Boundless Learning Co-Teaching Professional Learning for administrators is designed to assist school leaders in developing an effective co-teaching program. Administrators will gain the knowledge and skills to 1) support co-teachers in transferring the information gained during their learning activities to their co-taught classrooms, 2) conduct non-evaluative performance feedback to make certain that Boundless Learning Co-Teaching is implemented with fidelity, and 3) will collaborate with the Boundless Learning Building Implementation Team to measure progress and set implementation improvement goals.

Instructional Facilitators (when applicable)

The Boundless Learning Co-Teaching Leader Academy for instructional facilitators is designed to prepare facilitators to support co-teachers during the online learning process and with classroom implementation. Instructional facilitators will serve as mentors for current co-teachers and will gain the skills needed to prepare future partnerships for successful co-teaching implementation. This professional learning is in addition to the Boundless Learning Co-Teaching Professional Learning.
